The Shark: July 2006 Archives

I'm not an avid reader of PvP Online, but ever since Michael started posting tidbits and links to it I've stopped by every couple weeks or so when I'm bored to see if there's anything entertaining.

Today I stumbled across yesterday's strip, which makes fun of Provo, Utah, the city where I currently reside!

I grew up in Seattle, Washington, but am going to school at Brigham Young University here in Provo. I find this place to be pretty quirky, and Mormons in general are an odd breed sometimes, so I think it's fun to find other people teasing this place or my religion (well, as long as they don't get too out of hand, which usually isn't the case with most people).

And then I start to wonder what made Scott Kurtz think to reference Provo instead of any other funny little city, like Pie Town, New Mexico. I mean, yeah, growing up on the "mean streets of Provo" WOULD be a rather uninteresting premise for a comic since the most dangerous streets out here usually see less action than a couple of roadkills in an average week, but surely there are other places just as odd!

More on The Hoff

Tying in to the music video I posted earlier, apparently there is good reason as to why the Hoff portrays himself with horns and flame: David Hasselhoff is the AntiChrist.

This is probably the scariest thing I've ever watched.

But heck, it's a little fun and I do believe that the Hoff is actually making fun of himself in this video. Whatever you do, just grit your teeth and watch it through the end because the image of the Hoff as Satan is something that should be etched into EVERYone's minds.
