Earlier this summer the U.S. Postal Service released a series of stamps featuring DC's stable of characters. In 2007 Marvel's characters will get the same treatment. The set will follow the design used for the DC set and feature 10 stamps of character shots and 10 stamps of classic covers. The characters to receive stamps are Spider-Man, The Incredible Hulk, Sub-Mariner, The Thing, Captain America, Silver Surfer, Spider-Woman, Iron Man, Elektra and Wolverine. The covers to be featured are Amazing Spider-Man #1, Incredible Hulk #1, Sub-Mariner #1, Fantastic Four #3, Captain America #100, Silver Surfer #1, Marvel Spotlight #32 (featuring Spider-Woman), Iron Man #1, Daredevil #176 (featuring Elektra) and X-Men #1.
According to DC's November solicitations Chuck Dixon and Andy Smith's Claw the Unconquered will be ending with issue #6.
First off, I usually hate when a headline writer resorts to the "Holy _____" cliche when talking comics. But since this entry deals with the TV show I think it's appropriate. Now, on to the news.
Deborah Dozier Potter, daughter of 60's Batman TV show producer William Dozier, is suing 20th Century Fox Film Corporation for $4.4 million.
Her father's company, Greenway Productions Inc., produced the series and had a contract with Fox for distribution. In March 2005 she discovered a contract between Fox and ABC, which aired the show, that allegedly entitles Greenway Productions to 26% of the net profits from said agreement.
William Shatner has launched a contest to find the spokesperson for his new science fiction DVD club. Those interested must submit a short video clip that shows why they have what it takes to http://shatner.blip.tv/ by September 30. The public will select 10 finalists with celebrity judges selecting an additional 7. Shatner will then pick the winner.
