R.B. Propst: June 2006 Archives
Earlier this week I reported that Chuck Dixon revealed he'll be writing the comics adaption of the movie Snakes on a Plane. DC Comics has now confirmed that they are the publisher. The 2 issue Mature Readers adaption will be released in August and will feature writing by Dixon, pencils by Gordon Purcell and alternate covers by J.G. Jones and Jerome Moore.
Chuck Dixon has revealed that he'll be writing the comics adaption of this Summer's Snakes On A Plane movie. No publisher, format or time frame was given.
According to the June 5 issue of Entertainment Weekly Marvel Comics' Wolverine sits atop its Top 10 Franchise Characters list. The Top 10 are as follows:
1) Wolverine
2) Harry Potter
3) Spider-Man
4) Shrek
5) Robert Langdon (the main character of The Da Vinci Code),
6) Jason Bourne (The Bourne Identity and The Bourne Supremacy)
7) James Bond
8) Jigsaw (the villain of the Saw horror films)
9) Bart Simpson
10) Madea (Tyler Perry's trash-talking grandmother)
I have a hard time believing characters such as Batman and Superman don't even make the list while characters such as Jigsaw and Robert Langdon did. I'd like to see the criteria they used to judge. When taken as a whole I'd think Batman and Superman's influence far outweighs that of Jigsaw and Langdon.
Chuck Dixon has revealed that he'll be writing a Connor Hawke mini-series for DC this year.
It's in Wizard so it's official. Yep, I'm back at the old stand with a Connor Hawke mini series. Eddie Fyers WILL be there in a major role by Connor's side. And he will be spouting his comic retorts and one-liners. Shado also appears in a big part. It's a huge action adventure story with lots of new characters and a love interest for Connor. (No, it's NOT the new Batwoman) Derec Donovan is on the art and it's lookin' swell.
