R.B. Propst: October 2005 Archives
On Monday Peter Mayhew, the actor who has portrayed Chewbacca in 4 Star Wars franchise films, will take the oath to become an American citizen.
A couple months ago I posted an article stating that Warner Brothers was considering issuing a DVD set of the early 90's CBS series The Flash. Now that consideration has become fact with the news from tvshowsondvd.com that the set will be released on January 10, 2006. It will be a "complete series" set of 6 discs and will include the 90 minute pilot. Unfortunately, there will be no extras to go along with the episodes. The above link also has a picture of the box art.
I was a bit worried when I heard the WB was moving Smallville to Thursday nights. I figured that it could be the end of the series as that's a pretty competitive night on TV. But according to a Yahoo article it performed very well. Here's an excerpt from the article:
but this week's star performer in the slot was WB Network's "Smallville" (5.9 million, 2.6/7) in its fifth-season bow. The young-Superman drama, which has relocated from its longtime home on Wednesday, gave WB its best numbers in the time slot in key young demos in many moons.
That's some good news. Of course, it was the season premiere of a long running show so that could've affected the numbers. I guess the test will come this week when the "regular" episodes start. But it is good to see it increasing some of its numbers with the move. It may mean it'll be around for another season.
