R.B. Propst: July 2005 Archives
Ben Jones, who played Cooter the mechanic on the TV version of The Dukes of Hazzard, has urged fans of the series to skip going to the movie version, which opens in August.
Jones wrote an open letter to fans on his web site urging them to stay away saying "From all I have seen and heard, the Dukes movie is a sleazy insult to all of us who have cared about the Dukes of Hazzard for so long." He objected most to the family friendly TV show being turned into a movie with profanity, constant sexual innuendo and some very clear sexual situations.
In a joint announcement today DreamWorks Pictures, Hasbro, Inc. and Paramount Pictures revealed the release date for the live-action Transformers movie. The movie will see nationwide release on July 4, 2007.
The movie will be directed by Michael Bay with Steven Spielberg serving as executive producer.
