I saw the movie in a fantastic midnight showing. The movie was good. This film is easily the best in the prequel trilogy, ties up it up mostly satisfactorily, narrowly tops Return of the Jedi in quality and just misses the mark, thanks to certain key moments and element to beat the original Episode IV and the Empire Strikes Back. Of course, it could never beat Empire Strikes Back.

The so-called "Expanded Universe" also gets a few kicks to its vital parts, proving again that George Lucas pays little attention to the contributions of others to his creation; that's no problem; it disturbs other die-hards more than I. I will include spoilers. You have been warned.

This is my baby niece, McKenna. Kudos to my sister for being cool enough to allow me to do this with her eleven-month-old daughter. Cute is as cute does, but I'd trust the little one to clean up some Sith badness. After all, size matters not!

Well, in any case I think she'd do rather well against the "Legion" garrisoned on Endor!

I'm baaaaack!

Remember me?

Eh, who knows. I realize it's been awhile, so I have to reintroduce myself to an extent and introduce myself to the newcomers. Since the nicknames function, as of this date, has yet to be re-introduced I'll tell you my name is Christopher Joshua Arndt.

My original dropping out of Monitor Duty had to do with a lack of time and a lack of focus. I also switched from Internet Exploror 6 to the less buggy Firefox 0.9 I tell you the truth, Firefox is superior software but Movable Type, at least the version that Mike used at the time, was incompatible with my primary browser and thus posting was no longer casual enough to fit in. Even when I upgraded to Firefox 1.0 I found that it wouldn't work the same.

Mike upgraded a couple weeks ago, re-enabling me.

The reason I didn't start posting immediately after the new genesis, or the metamorphisis of Monitor Duty, however you want to phrase it, was that two weeks ago there was a small fire at my home and not only have I been temporarly homeless for the last two weeks, with likely one week to go on that front, but I missed the premier to Hitch Hiker's Guide (and I had a free ticket to boot!), and my computers were among the stuff recieving smoke damage. There was very little fire damage but I got a massive amount of smoke damage attacking everything in every room. The computers had to be checked, cleaned, and restored. So my laptop has now been cleaned and checked and now I can post again.

I am a near-expert on Silver Age Pre-Crisis Batman and Superman, some old-school Marvel Universe, and I'm a fan of Earth-2 and all the trappings. The boys at the Comic Treadmill sometimes refer to me as "the Third Treadmiller". I am a college student who seems to never be able to graduate but I am far from stupid. I'm far enough right-wing to make Michael Hutchison flinch but he's still a bigger libertarian than me and I've never met anyone that I've collaborated with online. I also am the creator of the weblog Apologies Demanded.

As for the photo, it was taken around November 2004. Somehow and sometime Between December 2004 and today I have gained approximately twenty pounds and now am about thirty pounds heavier than I calculate I should be. I hate that. Soon, God willing and me working towards it, I'll be thinner than I am in that picture, but with the Lord's blessing I still look that good, and possibly even better.

Still, that photograph does accurately depict me, and I look great in suits.
