Tin Man, a new Wizard of Oz Sci-Fi mini-series

Tin Man, a new Sci-Fi channel mini-series with a different take on the Wizard of Oz, looks interesting just because it has Richard Dreyfuss.  My only hesitation is that it bears several similarities to the recent Flash Gordon re-imagining.  (Trying to reunite family members,shooting in boring forests to keep the costs down, borrowing heavily from "Sliders", etc.)

But calling it "the O.Z."?  Having the main character call herself "D.G." instead of Dorothy?  Must everything be oh-so hip?
