Whenever he is about to, though, other members of the League arrive which convinces the Tornado that the League do not fully trust him.Attempting to gain a civilian life, Tornado becomes John Smith and meets Kathy Sutton at an employment agency who takes pity upon him and helps set him up in a rented appartment. Over the next weeks, the pair begin dating but are interrupted by Morrow's men who attack once more. Again the League arrive to help but are overcome by gas with no hope of aid until Elongated Man presses Tornado's signal device.Morrow watches on screen as the League dies but, as he leaves his hideaway, the League confront him, revealing that they knew about his plan for some time and had tricked him into thinking they were dead.
