Plot
Though thought destroyed at the end of JLA #102, the Red Tornado appears at the JLA satellite and, after explaining what happened to him, is inducted into the League.T O Morrrow, however, is in control of the Tornado and is planning to unwittingly use him to destroy the League; having recovered the Tornado's body after the events of JLA #102, Morrow had placed a device within the android's body which would be activated when the Tornado pressed his JLA signal.Morrow sends his minions to cause havoc and force Tornado to press his signal device. Whenever he is about to, though, other members of the League arrive which convinces the Tornado that the League do not fully trust him.Attempting to gain a civilian life, Tornado becomes John Smith and meets Kathy Sutton at an employment agency who takes pity upon him and helps set him up in a rented appartment. Over the next weeks, the pair begin dating but are interrupted by Morrow's men who attack once more. Again the League arrive to help but are overcome by gas with no hope of aid until Elongated Man presses Tornado's signal device.Morrow watches on screen as the League dies but, as he leaves his hideaway, the League confront him, revealing that they knew about his plan for some time and had tricked him into thinking they were dead.
